Step 1: Create an Order Form in WordPress using WPForms
Install and activate the WPForms plugin (Note: you need to have the paid version of WPForms to do this).
Create a new form using the Billing/Order form template.
Scroll down to the “Available Items” section on the right that the template includes and click it.
This will open up the “Field Options” in the left panel. Rename the field, add or remove order items, and change the prices.
You can add additional fields to your order form such as images, coupon codes, product options etc by dragging them from the left hand side to the right hand side.
Step 2: Configure Your Form Notifications
Click on the Settings tab in the Form Builder and then click Notifications.
To include the email address of your customer, click Show Smart Tags in the Send To Email Address field.
Click on Email so WPForms knows to send a notification to the email address that was entered on the order form submission.
You can also send an automatic WordPress order form email receipt to all customers that submit an order which is very handy.
Step 3: Configure Your Form Confirmations
There are three confirmation types you can choose from:
- Message: When a customer submits an order form, a simple message confirmation will appear letting them know their form was processed.
- Show Page: This confirmation type will take customers to a specific web page on your site thanking them for their order.
- Go to URL (Redirect). This option is used when you want to send customers to a different website.
Click on the Confirmation tab in the Form Editor under Settings.
Select the type of confirmation you’d like to create.
Customise the confirmation message to make it more personal for your customer.
Step 4: Configure the Payment Settings
WPForms integrates with PayPal, Authorize.Net, and Stripe payment processors for accepting payments which are all very secure and flexible payment options. Giving more payment options will also increase the conversion of your form.
Once you’ve installed and activated the payment addon/s you want, click the Payments tab in the Form Editor and select the settings that you need.
Now you’re ready to add your order form to your website.
Step 5: Add Your Simple Order Form to Your Site
WPForms allows you to add your forms to many places on your website like blog posts, pages, and anywhere you have a widget section, either in the sidebar or in the footer.
Make sure you click Save if you embed the form on a page or post! If you add it to a widget section it should automatically show up next time you view the section.
Now you can view your published order form live on your website and customers can order and pay for your products directly on your website.
